Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

PROFESSIONAL AMPHYL® BRAND HOSPITAL BULK DISINFECTANT CLEANER
EPA REG # 675-19

Q: Is this product the same formula as the retail version(s)?
A: No. The retail brand (Original) has a recently changed formula that no longer matches the Professional formula. Currently the original is awaiting EPA approval. The other scent of LBD is the fresh (quaternary ammonium active).

Q: How often do I have to prepare the use solution?
A: The EPA registered label copy recommends that use solutions be prepared on a daily use basis. This recommendation is basically focused on solutions dispensed through trigger bottles. Mop bucket solutions are typically changed more frequently as they become soiled and contaminated.

Q: How much of this product do I add to the laundry to sanitize?
A: To approximately ten pounds of laundry add 17 gallons of water followed by one cup (8 oz.) of Professional AMPHYL® Brand Hospital Bulk Disinfectant Cleaner. This is equivalent to a 1:272 dilution. Agitate for 3 minutes, let sit for 10 minutes and add laundry detergent and wash as usual.

Q: I can't purchase the retail version in gallons any longer. Where can I purchase the Professional AMPHYL® Brand Hospital Bulk Disinfectant Cleaner?
A: The retail group did at one time offer this product in gallons. They no longer do. In order to find a distributor of Reckitt Benckiser Professional that offers the gallon please call 1-800-677-9218, or visit our Where To Buy site within this web site.

Q: Does this product kill HIV-1, Tuberculosis?
A: This product provides hospital disinfection including Staph, Salmonella, Pseudomonas as well as the two organisms listed above.

Q: Can I use this product on carpeting?
A: We do not recommend this product be used on carpeting. Often the carpet is over saturated which wets all the way down to the backing. This can cause the treated area to give off a medicinal odor if the carpet area isn't extracted or rinsed properly.

Q: What is the product's use dilution?
A: For general use the dilution rate is 1:100 (4 oz. per 3 gallons of water). For hospital disinfection the use dilution is 2:100 (8 oz. per 3 gallons of water).
